So we had a great time at Llandudno and followed last years best score ever with another result which was better than we dared hope for. We were down about 0.5 of a percent on last year but moved up 3 places. Best of all everyone came off stage feeling we had put in as good a performance as we could and the judges seemed to agree. So each year we continue to make the next harder for ourselves but we are deffinetly up for the challenge.
We have welcomed more new members and sad to say said goodbye to one or two. We are delighted that one of our leads that had taken a sebatical has now returned to the fold and we continue to grow. We are running a Learn to Sing In Harmony Course during Septenber and October and are hoping that we can swell our ranks further with this initiative.
We continue to entertain people around and about the area and welcome any enquiries in this regard. Book us and we guarantee that you have a night to remember. We are constantly updating our repertoire to ensure we have something new to offer whilst maintaining some of the old favourites
We have already decided that we hope to compete in the Spanish convention in 2017. Watch this space for more detail nearer the time. This could be an opportunity to support your favourite local barbershop harmony chorus and catch some rays at the same time.
Well its been sometime since I updated this page so I apologies to all our followers although I suspect that you already know that it has been an interesting and exciting few months.
Our chorus continues to expand slowly but surely and I beleive we are potentially now 26 when everyone is available. We worked very hard on our convention numbers and in addition to the splendid work that our own M D Shanna Wells did with us we also had two wonderful guest directors to help us prepare for convention in Sally McClean and Nikkie James.
All this resulted in our best ever result coming second in our section and gaining promotion. Add into the mix that we lost our rehearsal room and all our risers in a fire caused by a massive lightening strike about 6 weeks before the event and I think we can be rightly proud of ourselves. Our thanks must however go to Oxford Harmony for lending us their risers for the duration and also to Tudor Hall School for providing a rehearsal venue at very short notice.
We continue to entertain at many venues around the North Oxfordshire,South Northamptonshire and Warwickshire borders not least of which was the Summer School Dinner at Kebel College Oxford which as always was a great night.
We are having discussions currently as to whether we shall go to Spain to compete in their convention in either 2015 or 2016 so watch this space for more details – why not come and support us.
Thats all for now
