Black Velvet Quartet
Black Velvet – the name inspired by a well-known Irish stout (enjoyed on many occasions) have performed at many functions including Banbury Sports Benefit African Charity Ball at Broughton Castle, the Overthorpe Midsummer Jazz evenings, The Brackley Music Festival , Birthday parties and Weddings. They can also be heard in many of the local pubs!!! At the Milton Keynes Arts Festival they have achieved a very credible commended and they compete in the The British Association of Barbershop Singers National Quartets Competition. They were mike warmers for the Finals in May 2007 and as such ranked as one of the top twenty registered quartets in the country. Black Velvet have fun and do everything they can to ensure their audiences enjoy their performance.
The “boys” all belong to 5 Ways – Byfield Barbershop Harmony Club and they are Clive – bass, Jim – baritone, Mark – lead and Eddie – tenor.
