5ways Chorus from Byfield are a group of men who love to sing in the Barbershop style. Founded in 2003 they have quickly established themselves both locally and nationally as a chorus dedicated to the enjoyment of a capella 4 part harmony. Their infectious enthusiasm is guaranteed to put a smile on your face with a programme ranging from 19th century minstrel songs through to popular songs by the likes of the Everly Brothers and the Beach Boys.
5ways Chorus were accepted as full members of the British Association of Barbershop Singers in the autumn of 2005. Having been formed by 3 keen individuals, we are proud that we now number some 20 members. We now compete at the National Barbershop Convention and also in the Milton Keynes Music Festival each year.
5ways Chorus have sung and entertained at many local events such as Fete’s Weddings and Birthday Parties and of course several local Music Festivals. We regularly visit senior citizens in homes in and around the Byfield, Brackley, Daventry, and Banbury areas to entertain them. Perhaps not surprisingly after any of the above events and even after rehearsals they can often be found in local hostelries partaking of light refreshments and singing another song or two.
Who´s Who:
Chairman — Jim Field, Secretary — John Allington, Musical Director — Chris Randall, Chorus Manager — Clive Adkins.
